Mandelic peel Other peels: Glycolic | Jessner | TCA | Yellow Peel Retises CT | Pyruvic
Mandelic acid is obtained from the hydrolysis of bitter almond extract. Its antibacterial and purifying properties for years have been used in the treatment of acne, photoaging and hyperpigmentation. Chemical structure of mandelic acid is similar to the structure of well-known antibiotics. It's a non-toxic substance with a pronounced cosmetic and documented bacteriostatic action.
Mandelic acid peel visibly diminishes fine lines in patients with skin phototype I - IV, bleaches uneven surface and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, reduces melasma, and, due to its bacteriostatic properties, markedly improves the quality of acne-prone skin with blackheads and pimples.
The treatment has low risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and may be applied all year round. Mandelic acid can be combined with kojic, phytic, salicylic acids, grapefruit extract, antioxidants, resorcinol, thioglycolic acid.
Indications: • pigmentation disorders: melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation • acne and acne scars • seborrheic skin • photoaging
Because of its anti-irritant properties, the peel may be used for treating skin with rosacea.
Treatments may be repeated every 15-30 days.
